Hi!  Welcome to our September Edition of the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop.  If you got to my blog from Jenn's Blog, then you are on the right track.  If not...You will want to start over at the RRR Blog and make your way all the way through.  There  is a lot of inspiration out there this month!

This month we are Easing on into Autumn with an amazing Ribbon Assortment! The colors of these ribbons remind me of the leaves turning color and gently falling from the trees.
It makes me think of cool~crisp days and Thanksgiving dinner.
Yes...I am weird!  LOL.  I live in Texas where one can only DREAM of those beautiful colors during the Autumn season!

Check out this gorgeous ribbon assortment!
Cant you just hear the leaves rustling on the ground!!!
I am in LOVE!

I maintained that whole autumn leaf aura as I planned my "Bow of the Month".
I used the burgandy, orange, and green ribbons from this assortment and tossed in some brown to complete the color progression.  And I even added a metal leaf in the center!
Here is an up close of this bow:

And here is a side view to see the thickness and the layers of ribbon:

And guess what...I loved the first bow SOOOO Much, that I made a 2nd one to match!
Now they can be worn as piggy tails!

My daughter fell in LOVE.  Of course!  LOL

I sure hope this inspired you to get your "Craft On" this weekend!
If not...just hop on over to the next blog...I know you will LOVE everything!

NOT A NERD!

...He just loves to Read! :)
For this  Back to School layout,
I used the Imaginisce line "Geek is Chic" from last year...Which I still LOVE!
 The title:
"Not a Nerd...just love to Read"
may be a long one, but sums these pictures up perfectly.

In 3rd grade, Dayne, at the age of 9 got awarded with his name on a plaque to hang in the school library to boast his accomplishments
of getting the most AR points in the
WHOLE ENTIRE SCHOOL.
I was sooooo proud of him!

In 4th grade...GUESS WHAT??
He got that award AGAIN!
TWO YEARS IN A ROW he read the most
and got the most AR points in the school.
His name is now on that plaque TWICE.
His Assistant principal was so proud of him...but she told
the rest of the 4th grade that they better give him some competition
in 5th grade! LOL  Dayne grinned and said NAAAH!

**The actual photos came off of my phone so the quality is not that great. **
I used ribbon and jute along with strips of the patterned papers to create a layered look...and 3 D red paint to make a faux stitched border around the edges.
I also wrote a few of my favorite quotes about reading around the inside borders.
I based my layout on this sketch by Diana Fisher:
I LOVE how it turned out!

It was about time I scrapped these pictures!  Thanks for the inspiration, Imaginisce!

Products used:

Finally May!!!

 Hello everyone! Happy Hump Day!
May is a super busy month for us here in the Willis House.  In addition to Tamon taking Drivers' Ed class,  the school year is almost over here, which means that proms, graduations, banquets and parties will be abundant. Most school related activities have come to an end, and everyone is getting geared up for summer vacation.  Some are even preparing for going off to college.  NO..not any of my own kiddos, but my nieces are.
This month, I chose to center a few of my projects around those events.

This first project is my favorite.  It features my niece and her bestie all ready for homecoming...only from a different angle that one would normally expect!  Here is:

"It's All About The Shoes"

Here is a close up of the computer generated journaling...

And here is a close up of the super cute high heeled shoes chippie:
I pained them black with acrylic paints and sprinkled glitter on them.
I flipped them over to fit in the appropriate corner on my layout.

I used the Basic Grey Lemonade and PB&J lines for this layout.
I also tossed in some Prima flowers and

Next up is a card that I made wishing a special little Graduate that I know
"Best Wishes"

Here is a close up.  I actually painted this a Navy color to match the navy flowers, but for some reason it looks almost black here in the photo.

Oh, and Here is Clarissa, the Graduate:
Isn't she beautiful!

I used the Basic Grey PB&J line along with

This last project is a very simple two page layout.  It is a collection of photos that I took of Chance playing foot ball last year, and I decided that the footballer chippie would be PERFECT for getting them scrapped! Here is :

"FOOTBALL"

This first photo shows the 2 page layout together.

This photo shows a close up of the chippie himself.
I actually colored this with a black sharpie marker and
covered the entire surface with Glossy Accents.  I also flipped him over to suit my layout needs to work for my page.  Some chippies you can do that with and they work perfectly fine either way!

Victorian Boot Vase

Good Morning to all you Really Reasonable Ribbon Lovers!
I am so glad you have decided to take a trip over to my blog today!
I am super excited to share this little project with you today!

My Victorian Boot Vase!

Ladies, this is a REAL boot!
You can maybe take time to look around thrift stores or yard sales to see what you can find...
I just got lucky and found these in my OWN attic!
I remember my Mom's wedding about 20 years ago, and she wore these boots.
Back then I thought..,  "That crazy woman done gone and spent money on something that she will never ever use again!"  Well, I have been right thus far...
Until.....
I decided to alter them and make a vase out of them!
Here is what it was before I cleaned it and added the ribbons and bling and flowers...

The transformation was so simple!
I used a Mr Clean Magic eraser to get the yellowed color to go away.
Then, I removed the shoe lace and replaced it with Rose Petal Seam Binding.
I added the Natural Juliet Crochet Lace to the top and sprinkled in some bling for an added touch...and viola!  Instant gorgeousness!

My Mom will be so excited when she gets this for Mother's Day!
I think she may have forgotten they were in my attic!  I sure did! LOL

Hey!  Go dig around in your own attic...see what you can find to add a bit of ribbon to to change it and refresh it!  I bet you come out happy in the end!

Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!
