FIRST TRACK MEET!!!!!!!

Well, last night was the first track meet for my son. EVAH. He is in 7th grade, and has been really enjoying Athletics, and he decided to go out for track and field events. Well, he has been practicing for the last 3 weeks, and last night, I got to watch Tamon in Action.

WOW...I stood in amazement as my 13 year old little boy transformed into a very sleek, well postured, athletic super kid! LOL. He look sooooooo good! My little boy is growing up right before my eyes...and I may not have noticed it, but I promise...all the little girlies on the side lines screaming "Tamon...we are your biggest fans!!!"....THEY noticed!!!

He participated in 5 events...and placed in FOUR of them!!

He got 2nd place in Pole Vaulting...he was AWESOME!

He got 2nd in the 1600 meter relay....the team he had did fantastic!

He got 4th in the 400 meter run...I never knew he could run that fast!

He got 6th in the discus throw. OMG that thing is Heavy! And to CHUNK it...WOW!

All of the kids did a phenomenal job! Keefer has a group of athletes that will make their school PROUD!

YES>...I took pictures....or so I thought. I could kick myself...because I FORGOT to put a memory card into my camera! WWWWAAAAAHHHHHHH! I had such good shots, too! I am going to go cry one more time for the lack of photos...
Have a fantabulous day!

My Favorite Memories....

I recently found a blog the TRULY inspires me to no end...and I have wanted to participate ever since I found it, but have been truly time challenged. Today, My internet was out for a LARGE portion of the day, it was nasty and raining outside, and I have not received any of my DT kits yet...soooooooo...I scrapped for "My Favorite Things!" This challenge was to scrap some favorite memories. I have 5 kids, so, obviously I can't scrap about ONE in particular...and if I scrapped about ALL five...my memories of each one would be too extensive.....so, I scrapped my fave memories about Skye RIGHT NOW...because I don't ever want to forget how special these things are. This photo speaks VOLUMES about my favorite memories of her...so I naturally used it for this layout. My favorite memories of her include her favorite color is yellow, her fave princess is Belle, her fave activity is playing dress up, and her i love how she will always cock her head to the side when I am taking her picture!

I also wanted to do this for Anna's title prompt over on the Simply Obsessed blog, but I forgot that was supposed to do a ONE word title...FAVORITE. I added in the extra tid~bits of a title...of well.

Most of the supplies I used are Basic Grey Origins...with a few others mixed in for good measure. I MADE those yellow roses! I was so excited at how they turned out!
Oh..and my favorite thing about this layout...almost everything is leftovers from past Scrap Attack kits! (with the exception of the background paper and the yellow and clear pearls and the paint) There are remnants of my last 3 kits in there...and they all look soooo good together!! I am soooo glad I kept the leftovers...because I am totally in love with how this came out!
TFL!! Have a FANTABULOUS day!!

Spring Break is almost here again!!!!

Can you believe it!!??

This next layout was done using photos from spring break LAST YEAR! I am just now doing these, and it is creeping up on us again! I can't wait to get some more park day photos of my kiddos!

I did this layout in order to do my last Wacky Holiday challenge at Scrap Attack for my virtual charm. My hidden journaling is behind the large circle...which talks about this being spring break ...March 19th 2009. I took the kids to the park for a play day to celebrate "Absolutely Incredible Kids' Day"...the March Wacky holiday. LOL. If you are wondering about "Wacky Holidays"...google it...these are ACTUAL Celebrated days that are just not marked on our Calendar~ and sooo much fun!! This is the last one for 2009 that I had to do in order to earn my charm...but I think I will be doing a few in 2010...only because they are so fun! If you need a title prompt or an idea for a unique page...the wacky holidays will give you inspiration!

Almost everything here was in my Mystery Box from Scrap Attack...I loved it!

Also, I host the monthly color challenge over at SD4U...and this month, the colors that I chose to inspire us are
RED~~~~~YELLOW~~~~~and BLUE!

I used this layout for my example...I was inspired by the primary colors in the photos...and thought...OMGoodness...this could be a great challenge! I have a few other layouts in the works, but mojo has fled...so...I am just staring at blank pages! UGH!

TFL!! Have a great day!!

Layouts to Share....

Last week/weekend, SD4U and Simply Obsessed both had Crops for the Valentine holiday. I didn't get much done, because We had basketball all day Saturday and Mawmaw needed us on Sunday, but I did get a few layouts done!

I used this sketch by Kristine Davidson:

To create this layout using the February "All You Need is Love" kit from SD4U. I LOVE how this came out!! Aubrie is always calling Skye her "Sweetheart" so this layout is just fitting for my 2 little girls!

This layout is pretty close to my heart. I did this to adhere to the criteria for several challenges...but mostly, because it is the photo that Kay, my Step Mom requested on Christmas Day 2009. This photo was to mark the end of her year long battle with breast cancer...with her family by her side. It is Me, My Dad, My brother, and Kay, My Step Mom...this photo was truly "Made with Love"

These next 2 just focused on my little girlies...and used criteria from specific challenges to create. The SPRING is Coming layout was a scraplift of Jen from SD4U for the secret scraplift challenge...I so love how it came out! Thanks for the inspiration, Jen!

Well, I have more in the works, but have to go for now...I have a LOOOOOONG day ahead of me working int he shop on a wedding cake. Have a fabulous weekend!!

March Kit Sneaks at SD4U!

Here are the 3 kits that Martha has selected for March over at SD4U. Well, these are not the EXACT kits, because a lot of the product has not made it in yet since it is so new, but these are the manufacturers/lines that will be in there!!! Each one is just FANTASTIC!

Here is "Hippity Hoppity" by We R Memory Keepers. I get to use this one!! OOOOOO I am so excited! I absolutely LOOOOOVE Easter, and I am already envisioning all of the fun layouts that I can do with these super cute papers! Heather and Jen also will be using this kit...all three of us have certainly got the kiddos to fill these super cute pages with!

Here is "Estate Sale" by Bella Boulevard. This kit is fantastic for family or even masculine layouts! Kris B., Kristine D., and Mette get to work with this one...I can't wait to see how they use it!

And HERE is "Material Girl" by Cosmo Cricket. Don't you just love this!!! I am seriously drooling over this one! LG and Nicole get to create with this one...and I KNOW that they will just ROCK this kit!

OH...And did you notice that EVERY KIT comes with it's own BOTTLE OF SHIMMERZ SPRITZ???!!! How cool is that!!??

That turkey is lying to me....

...Those are the words that sparked a very interesting conversation between Skye and myself yesterday.
As we were eating a Super Duper Valentine lunch consisting of chili dogs and chocolate dipped strawberries (the kids' choice), Skye told me that the turkey is lying to her.
Of course, these words would grab ANYONE'S attention...and certainly grabbed mine!

I asked her,
"What turkey is lying to you, Skye?"

She said, "The one that says Cock~a~doodle~doo. He is lying. It is not wake up time right now."

!!!???!!!! It took me about two seconds...then I died laughing!

She was talking about the rooster that we have living next door that is obviously time impaired! He DOES crow at all hours of the day...she is right!! To a FOUR year old, a rooster is only supposed to crow when it is wake up time. Have you ever watched "Rockadoodle" where the rooster is an "ELVIS" type the crows every morning to bring up the sun? Well, that is one of her favorite movies...and MINE! LOL...

I love the mind of my four year old!!!! She made my Valentine's Day!!!

{SAS}sy Reveal!!

I will be honest...I have never used...or even had the desire to use Scribble Scrabble products. While I did not hate them, I just did not feel inspired by the soft~subtle tones of the the products. I tend to lean more toward Bo Bunny...LOL. However, when I pulled out my DT kit from Lauri at Scrap Attack this month...all that changed. I LOVED the scribble Scrabble papers! And mixed with Basic Grey...they were phenomenal! I was so very inspired, and I truly love everything that I was able to create with my kit this month! Thanks, Lauri!! For always having such BEAUTIFUL kits!!!

On these last three, I used "Sunflower" Shimmerz paints. I LOVED the effect that the shimmerz has!!! It turned the sage green flowers into a beautiful golden tone, and it gave my papers the perfect "Midas Touch" that I was looking for!!

EXCITING NEWS X2!!!

The "Roses Are Red Crop"...Has begun at SD4U! Come on over and join! There are lots of games and prizes...with the GRAND PRIZE being a 3 month Guest Designer Spot! HOLY MOLY!!! Yes...I said THREE MONTHS!!! Come on over and join in on the fun!

AND....I have been invited to join the Simply Obsessed Design Team starting in March! I am totally excited, and March can't get here soon enough!

{SAS}sy Sneak!!??

Ok...so I am LOVING what Lauri at Scrap Attack sent to me to play with for February! I have created to my "heart's content" and still am creating! LOVE IT!!! Here is a little sneakie of what I am playing with...can you guess what it is??

Monday, February 1, 2010

OMGOODNESS!!!! YAY!!! FINALLY February!!! I squealed with delight and shrieked with pleasure as I opened my box that contained my SD4U kit this month! Can you say GORGEOUS!! Each and every element was as beautiful as the next...and I savored the thought of creating with these beauties!! I honestly used almost everything. Yep...it is phenomenal! Bo Bunny is one of my all time FAV manufacturers...and I got 2 of the newest Valentine lines!!! Take a look at what I created.....

Here is "XOXO"... this is Skye blowing me kisses from the slide at the park. I hand stitched a flourish to symbolize the swirling of the kisses...and the hearts for the kisses themselves.
"The Sweetest Things" is about my family. Yes...Joe does call me "Mom" when he is referring to me to one of our children. I used punches to make the flowers and my cricut for the vines. For the tag, I put the cardstock sticker on a piece of white paper and cut out around that, punched a hole in the top and laced my jute through the hole. It kept it from HAVING to be stuck to the paper...it became my tag!

Here is "SWAK". Aubrie and Skye wanted a picture of them both kissing their mama! I used the beautiful flourishes that are already on this sheet of paper and added in a bit of dimensional paint and stickles to finish off an already gorgeous page. I used a piece of black cardstock and my crisut to make the flourishes, the arrow, and the heart.

"How Do I Love Thee". This is Joe and I a few years back. Each of those strips DO pull out to reveal a different reason that I love him. The kids all enjoyed pulling the journaling strips out and reading them. LOL.

Altered Valentine Art...Here...I altered a jar and made a matching V-Day card. Isn't it just adorable!??

I DO STILL HAVE ONE MORE LAYOUT!!! Can you believe it!!!! BUT...It will wait until the Valentine crop...it is my favorite by the way!!! I can't WAIT to share it with you all!!!! MAKE SURE you join us for the Crop on Feb 12th, 13th and 14th! The grand prize is a THREE MONTH GUEST DESIGNER SPOT!!!!
HOLY PRIZES BATMAN!!! THREE FREAKIN' MONTHS!!!!
