Well, If you came to my blog from Patti's blog, then your are on the RIGHT track!  If you didn't, then you might consider starting at the beginning with the Cardmaker Blog and hopping right along!

This month, we are sharing this succulent array of yellows and greens that Bonnie has so cleverly put together for the Ribbon Club Assortment.  Isn't it just amazing!!??

Of course, I did what any self respecting bow~making~ribbon-loving Mom would do....
I made Munchkin a new bow!

And she LOVED IT!!!!
L~O~V~E~D it!!!!!!
Her absolute favorite color is yellow...so this made her do a little song and dance when I gave it to her! lol

 Side View:

And, After I finished the bow, I decided to use some of my left-over ribbon to make a cute summery card.  I am absolutely in LOVE with that sheer ribbon with the yellow cherries!
TOO STINKIN' CUTE!

I hope I have inspired you all a little bit today.  It is Friday the 13th, Y'all!  and we all know that Friday is A PERFECT day to break out some ribbon and start creating! You have the weekend to finish!

You are Oh So Original!

Yes..I believe that everyone was created to be an original. Unique by Design.
This photo of my goofy 9 year old says exactly that.  It is oozing with his own personality and I absolutely adore the expression on his face!
He was in the pool having "Noodle Wars" with his brothers and a few friends from down the street.  He was telling me "They are KILLING me Mom!!!" and THAT was the expression that I caught on camera.  LOVE IT.  LOVE.  LOL.
I decided to scrap this photo using the Summer Samba Collection as the main focus with bits of the Copper Kettle Collection intermixed. I LOVE the bright vibrant colors of the Summer Samba for my pics of the summer...it just adds life to them!  Here is a close up of the embellishment that i created by fussy cutting some pieces...

Here is a close up of the embellishment that I created by fussy cutting some pieces.
I decided to use a grid pattern for the basis of this layout since I was using this vellum quote strip.

I simply cut the quote strip in half to create a couple of my grid blocks.

Now, I certainly hope I've inspired you to get busy scrappin' some of your summer fun photos!  I had a blast doing this layout! Thanks for visiting us today...Have a Magnificent week!

Rain Bows

Good Morning!
Happy Monday to you all!
What a Beautiful day here in Texas after a week FULL of rain, rain, and more RAIN!
Seriously, every day we had thunderstorms.
And on Wednesday, we laid my Grandmother to rest and showers poured even then.
My 6 year old said "Those are God's tears, Mom.  He is sad that you are so sad."
The things that come out of the mouthes of babes.
Then, on the way home...after the rain...this was what we saw...

And I felt Peace.
And I knew it was all going to be ok.
It was God's Masterpiece.

And THAT was the inspiration for todays card.
I could not get the rainbow image out of my head...so I decided to put it on a card.
And the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson was absolutely PERFECT to go along with the direction I wanted this card to go.
And of course...It is a rain BOW right???
I used the bow easy tool to help with that...
I tied a bow at the end of every ribbon of the my rainbow.
The various colors of double ruffle ribbon were perfect to add texture to my card.

And with that, I tell you, Have a WONDERFUL Week, and I hope your day is full of sunshine and rainbows!!!!

Thanks for visiting me today!

To everything, there is a Season...

Truer words were never spoken.
This last week was a difficult one for my family, it was spent saying our final goodbyes to my Grandmother.  Her life ended on Friday the 15th, which also happened to be my own Mother's 60th Birthday.  It devastated my Mom.
I had already created this card a few days earlier, but found it fitting to give to my Mom to help to console her through this Season in her life.

The single butterfly represents my Grandmother, and I added in the vellum quote...
"To everything there is a Season."
Unfortunately, this was the season for loss.  My Mom actually found comfort and inspiration in this...and the words that I wrote on the inside.
Inspiration is everywhere, even in sad times.  I hope I have inspired you today.  Have a wonderful week, and remember, God never gives us more than we can handle.  There IS a season for everything...and this season, too, shall pass.

A Non-Birthday card....

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!
***Scroll Down for the Blog Hop***

What a beautiful day it is down here in the south!
I have a picnic planned with my munchkins and some other mom's...
one of whom is celebrating her Birthday today!
Of course, at some point in her life, she decided that she will no longer have birthdays...as many women seem to decide around their thirties...LOL.
So, since it is her "NON" Birthday, I decided to make her a non-birthday card!

I made some cupcakes, so I decided to stick with that theme....
I used the June Ribbon Club Assortment and some red jute string for this card.
Oh...and I LOVE the BG PB&J collection!
It is sooooo fun!

And since we ALL KNOW that I am seriously card challenged,
I cheated and used a card sketch from Basic Grey:

And with a NON Birthday card, my friend can't get mad at me for "celebrating" her birthday for her!
Thanks for visiting me today!
Have a FANTABULOUS Thursday!!!

Blog Hopping with Really Reasonable Ribbon!

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!
It is a PERFECT day to be hopping along with us!
If you came to my blog from Patti's beautiful Blog,
then you are on the right track! If not, then you may want to consider
starting over at the beginning at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog
so that you don't miss a single project!

Here is this month's gorgeous Ribbon Club Assortment:

I am infatuated with the red/whit/blue theme!
I am not just an American girl, but I am also a proud Texan...
so those colors run all through my veins!  Just sayin'... LOL.

This month, i decided to add a little "twist" to my bow of the month.
Rather than just a bow, I created a beautiful headpiece for my daughter to wear at
the annual Independence Day Parade and Celebration that we attend.

I used all of the ribbons in the assortment along with a bit more.
My red head is usually very reluctant to be the recipient of one of my creations,
but this month, she was practically on her hands and knees begging me for this one to be hers!
LOL..I think I got her approval this time. ;)

I hope I have inspired you with my creation.  This month's assortment
definitely got my creative juices flowing again!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today!
Now it is time to head on over to Dawn's Delightful blog...
and have a Fantabulous Day!!

Mojo? .... oh Mojo???

MoJo...Mojo...oh where fore art thou, Mojo????
These last few weeks I have found myself to be completely uninspired to create.
I have been SUPER DUPER busy with my five kiddos and the end of school activities, banquets, awards ceremonies, field day activities and field trips. WHEW!  That was a mouthful!  LOL
They have kept me hopping, and I have seriously neglected my need to create!

This week, though...school is FINALLY out, the weather has been "iffy"
and I have actually had an opportunity to get creative!
While I was able to create several projects, I am going to start with this one...
a simple layout for Fathers' Day inspiration.

When one finds that MOJO has left the building,
I find it quite helpful to dig deep...
This time, I dug deep into my un-scrapped photos.
These photos are of my hubby and my 9 year old son...
when he was a mere munchkin.
And my hubby was somewhat handsome back then!  lol

Another thing that I find helpful, is to Keep it SIMPLE.
I decided on a super simple layout...but one that packs a major message.
Obviously, I am focusing on the fact that this is a "Dad & Son" layout.
in the bottom corner, though, you will see my use of a Quick Quotes vellum quote.
By using this quote, I eliminated all need for journaling,
AND I conveyed a VERY important message that I wanted to convey with this layout.

"Children are the hands by which we take hold of Heaven"

Wow...I couldn't have said it better myself!  LOVE it!
Hope I have inspired you today...whether it be to dig into old photos, to scrap a simple layout, or to break out your vellum quotes...do something CREATIVE today!
Have a Magnificent Saturday!

Mother's Day Hopping with RRR!

YAY!  Time for another Blog Hop with The fantastically talented Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team!  I love this time of the month!  lol
If you came to my blog through Patti's blog, then you are on the right track!
If not, then you might want to consider starting t the beginning at the RRR blog and hopping all the way through...you don't want to miss ANYTHING!
This month, Bonnie has masterfully put together an amazing assortment of hot pinks and blacks for the Monthly Ribbon Club Assortment.
Isn't it To DIE for!  Yes...My Daughters LOVED it!

Of course, I created my Bow of the Month with this magnificent combo!
I could not resist a big poofy pink and black hair bow! LOL

I did add in a few extra ribbons to make the bow complete.
The skulls were an obvious choice to add to this bow...Skye ADORED it!
Here is a side view of the bow...and it gives you an idea of how big and poofy it actually is!

An here is Skye wearing it.  YES...she has spray painted her hair hot pink to match!  LOL
I hope I have inspired you today to grab some ribbon and start creating!
Have a Magnificent Mother's Day!!!!

Your next stop in today's hop is Dawn.
Happy Hopping!

Here is my sneak peek into my project.......

And.....Here is the hop sequence just in case you get lost along the way!

Misty Willis       << You are here
Quick Quotes Blog

Now, in honor of Mother's Day, I decided to do a little layout of my kids...just for ME.
I used my absolute FAVORITE 1/2 page vellum piece that I have EVER gotten from Quick Quotes...
I think I bought this like 5 or 6 years ago at a convention and just couldn't ever quite figure out how I wanted to use it.  Well, I finally figured it out!
At first glance, this is a simple layout...

However, I took that simple one step further and I created a wall hanging by using a piece of 12x12 QQ canvas and attaching length of ribbon to to the top for it to hang by.

This poem/quote by Patsy definitely tugs at my heart strings...and I found myself actually striving to do some of the things that she mentions...and more.
YES...we mailed Valentine cards to God once.  LOL..Just sayin'.  ;)
I used Mocha Mama, Tahiti, and Amaretto Powder Puff inks to create the distressed look on the edges of the page and the vellum.  I used a sponge applicator rather than applying directly from the ink pad.
AND I love to fussy cut...so...well...you know...I did lots of it!
Hope this layout inspires you today!
Thanks for visiting me!

OH!!!  And what's a Blog Hop without a fun prize?!!!  Don't forget to visit all the blogs and leave comments!!!
The next stop on the hop is at  Barb Craft.  Hop on over and be inspired!

Club Q Re-Do!

I Absolutely LOVE the colors in this month's Club Q kit!!!
The deep purple and the gold tones are simply amazing, and truly make any photo look elegant.
Rather than using the suggested layout, I decided to go a different way with the layout kit.

I am a circle fanatic...LOL...so I decided to work a circle layout.
I decided to add in some pops of white to the purple and gold to help soften the look of the layout.  I did this by adding in some white lace, white spritz, white paints, and I added some hand drawn white stitches.

I used the purple passion Powder Puff Ink on all of the gold edged paper and the petals of the paper flowers.

Here is a close up of the Title treatment.  I layered the purple laser cut onto a strip of the gold paper to help it Pop.  I trimmed the rhinestone strand into shorter pieces to ad to the butterflies and to make a "starburst" coming from the larger flower.

This layout is appropriately titled "A day worth Remembering".  This was my daughter's 5th grade manners banquet , and we both dressed in our "Sunday Best". It is also the day that I realized just how much my daughter looks like me.  :)

I hope that I have given you another idea on ways to use your Club Kit.  It is an amazing kit, and I LOVE creating with it!

Supplies:
April Club Q kit
Purple Passion Powder Puff ink
lace, paints, mists, and rosettes were from my stash

Good Morning everyone!
I am sooooo thrilled that Bonnie invited me to join the RRR Dt for a 3rd term!
I absolutely adore ribbon and Bonnie has the BEST selection ever.
She has so many styles, colors and varieties, that it is truly difficult to make an order without ordering one of EVERYTHING!
This last 4 months, I have been super busy and preoccupied with preparing taxes for other people.
CRAZY me thought it would be fun....NOT!!!!
You know what it was? It is NUTS!
However...when it was over and Bonnie sent me an e-mail telling me
"Happy April 18th"...
She definitely made me smile!
Bonnie is awesome and working for her is truly a Joy.
Hence...My card....

I used the Green Apple double ruffle ribbon tied in a bow to enhance this simple card.
I have never claimed to be a card maker...and Bonnie knows that...
I am a bow maker, a home decor maker, a scrap booker, and a lot more...but cards are not my specialty.   However, sometimes, a simple card says all that you need to say.

So, Thank you, Bonnie...You gave me "JOY"!!!!

Hope you all have a magnificent day!

SO, most you already know that I try to make a hair ornament with my
monthly ribbon club assortment.
Here is this month's...isn't it gorgeous!
I thought the colors were so soft and springy, I didn't want to leave a single ribbon out.
I asked my "Little Model" what kind of clip she would want this month and she chose a ponytail holder again. **I think she is liking the ponies lately!**
So, here is what I made:

And here is my Beautiful model :)

I also decided to make a card this month with the butterfly stamp collection from The Rubber Cafe.

Happy Easter

What a beautiful day yesterday turned out to be.  It was a perfect day to spent with God and family.
Today, I am bringing you a different take on the Q-Club kit.  Here s the kit by the way, if you haven't already seen it:

I could just relish in it's GORGEOUSNESS!  The deep purples and the gold tones are magnificently paired creating an amazing spark of creativity deep inside!  Rather than making the 5x7 frame from the frame kit, I decided to make an inspirational wall hanging for my Grandmother for Easter.  Here is what I created:

I used the gold sides of the papers to cover chipboard pieces that I already had on hand. It is 12 inches tall and 10 inches wide, and is just perfect to hang above her mantle.  I used Biscotti and Midnight Confessions Powder Puff inks to create the rustic look on the edges, and I tossed in some ecru lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon to help bring in the focal point of the beautiful magnolia flower.
I do still have the canvas piece from that particular kit, but I did use EVERYTHING else, and I love what I created!  I have something else in store for that handy dandy piece of canvas! (wink~wink)

Thanks for visiting us today!
Hope you had a Blessed Easter and a truly wonderful week ahead!

Supplies used:
Prima crystals
Ecru lace

Flippin' Awesome Card

Hi everyone!  Misty here today with a little bit of card inspiration
to get you in the "Summer" spirit!
I am soooo ready for summer to be here, and the Summer Samba collection from Quick Quotes is the perfect warm weather collection!

I thought the chipboard flip flops were just so flippin' cute!  I just had to do something with them immediately!  With inks and ribbon in hand, I set to work.
I decided that I would make a card and keep the focus on those awesome flip flops.

I used the Mango Mai Tai and Tahiti Powder Puff inks to set the colors of the flip flops, and I used Midnight Confession and Baja Blue to ink the edges of the card stock.   Here is a close up of the flip flops.
And what better way to keep the focus on the flip flops than with
 a super cool greeting like...
"You're Flippin' AWESOME"!!!
Yes, the receiver of the card loved it!
I hope I have inspired you to break out of the wintery shell
and get into a summer mood! Flip Flops always do it for me!
Thanks for visiting us today and have an AWESOME Flippin' Day!!!!
