On these last three, I used "Sunflower" Shimmerz paints. I LOVED the effect that the shimmerz has!!! It turned the sage green flowers into a beautiful golden tone, and it gave my papers the perfect "Midas Touch" that I was looking for!!

{SAS}sy Reveal!!
I will be honest...I have never used...or even had the desire to use Scribble Scrabble products. While I did not hate them, I just did not feel inspired by the soft~subtle tones of the the products. I tend to lean more toward Bo Bunny...LOL. However, when I pulled out my DT kit from Lauri at Scrap Attack this month...all that changed. I LOVED the scribble Scrabble papers! And mixed with Basic Grey...they were phenomenal! I was so very inspired, and I truly love everything that I was able to create with my kit this month! Thanks, Lauri!! For always having such BEAUTIFUL kits!!!

{SAS}sy Sneak!!??
Ok...so I am LOVING what Lauri at Scrap Attack sent to me to play with for February! I have created to my "heart's content" and still am creating! LOVE IT!!! Here is a little sneakie of what I am playing with...can you guess what it is??
Monday, February 1, 2010
OMGOODNESS!!!! YAY!!! FINALLY February!!! I squealed with delight and shrieked with pleasure as I opened my box that contained my SD4U kit this month! Can you say GORGEOUS!! Each and every element was as beautiful as the next...and I savored the thought of creating with these beauties!! I honestly used almost everything. Yep...it is phenomenal! Bo Bunny is one of my all time FAV manufacturers...and I got 2 of the newest Valentine lines!!! Take a look at what I created.....
Here is "XOXO"... this is Skye blowing me kisses from the slide at the park. I hand stitched a flourish to symbolize the swirling of the kisses...and the hearts for the kisses themselves.
"The Sweetest Things" is about my family. Yes...Joe does call me "Mom" when he is referring to me to one of our children. I used punches to make the flowers and my cricut for the vines. For the tag, I put the cardstock sticker on a piece of white paper and cut out around that, punched a hole in the top and laced my jute through the hole. It kept it from HAVING to be stuck to the paper...it became my tag!

Here is "SWAK". Aubrie and Skye wanted a picture of them both kissing their mama! I used the beautiful flourishes that are already on this sheet of paper and added in a bit of dimensional paint and stickles to finish off an already gorgeous page. I used a piece of black cardstock and my crisut to make the flourishes, the arrow, and the heart.
"How Do I Love Thee". This is Joe and I a few years back. Each of those strips DO pull out to reveal a different reason that I love him. The kids all enjoyed pulling the journaling strips out and reading them. LOL.

Altered Valentine Art...Here...I altered a jar and made a matching V-Day card. Isn't it just adorable!??
I DO STILL HAVE ONE MORE LAYOUT!!! Can you believe it!!!! BUT...It will wait until the Valentine crop...it is my favorite by the way!!! I can't WAIT to share it with you all!!!! MAKE SURE you join us for the Crop on Feb 12th, 13th and 14th! The grand prize is a THREE MONTH GUEST DESIGNER SPOT!!!!
HOLY PRIZES BATMAN!!! THREE FREAKIN' MONTHS!!!!

One heck of a day!!
Yesterday, after I dropped kids off at school, I came home and hopped in the shower and heard a loud BOOM that shook my house. A transformer blew REALLY close to me. Because Joe is an electrician, I knew it would be lights out for a few hours, so I got dressed and headed out to run some errands. I finished early, so I went to the school to pick up Skye...she gets out at 11:15...it was 10:50, so I was only a little bit early. I pulled into the parking lot, only to be rushed out of the way...for a firetruck! there was a fire in the school!! I THOUGHT they were having a drill...but nope...it was real! I could see the black smoke billowing from the back of the cafeteria. Several of the teachers told me that it was in the bathroom that was beside the cafeteria...not the kitchen. How do you think that happened??? Yep, some child had set the fire. =(
I had to stay for over an hour because they were not releasing any student...not even pre-k because they were unable to return to the school until all of the smoke was cleared out. I can only Thank God that no one was hurt. I did not take the rest of them, because they wanted pre~k to go, while they did one last check to make sure the school was clear. They were not releasing any other student. The lunch was ready...first lunch would have been at 10:50...which is when it was detected. The first teacher walking her class into the lunchroom saw the smoke coming from the restroom. It was an adventure for them.!!!!!!

Wassup Dawg!
A four year old little Princess left to her own devices with a willing dog, makes for these next photos!
So, a few weeks ago, I was taking down the tree in the living room, while Skye was in the kitchen playing as little girls do. Normally, she will color in the floor or play with her babies in there because that is where my scrap nook is. I am in there much of the time...hence, so is she. So, I was not concerned one bit to hear her in there playing while I was busy...I knew she was fine.
What I DID NOT know...was that Max was in there also. Max, who was more than likely minding his OWN business, quickly became the center of all of Skye's attention.
I started hearing her talk to Max, but what she was saying I could not decipher. I only know it was Max because I Heard the "Oh Max!" that was a little louder and giggly than normal. I climbed down off of my ladder (Yes...it takes a 10ft ladder to put up and take down my tree) ...I stepped down off the ladder and walked through the dining room and into the kitchen and this is what I found....
He seemed to be TOLERATING her playing "Rock Star Dog" with him...but I knew he was silently wishing she would loose interest. Here he is after I lifted the shades just to see what his eyes were saying to me up under there. I think this is a look of desperation...and probably a "PLEASE make it stop...PPPPPLLLLLEEEEEEEAAAASSSEEEEE!!!!! (in the best Roger Rabbitt voice he could muster...lol)...What do you think??

Skye just loved that he was letting her play dress up with him!

Back to school.....
FOR REAL this time! LOL
Yesterday, Monday, I TOTALLY thought that school was back in session. At 5:30, Tamon was up and dressed...ready by 6am. Dayne (my 7year old) was even up and ready! By 6:20...all the kids were out of bed and raring to go. Chance and Skye needed a little prodding, but they were up. Dayne even said to me..."Mom, I am ready to go to school and LEARN something!" How cute is that, right?
Well...7 am, we left the house. Normally, we don't leave the house until about 7:20, but Tamon had missed his bus (or so we thought). Well, we got to the schools and they seemed very empty for a Monday morning. Only a few cars in each parking lot...they were SHUT DOWN! Oh no! They go back on the 5th! LOL
So, I did what any respectable Mom would do in this situation, I went to jack In the Box and bought them all a Breakfast Jack for a "consolation" prize. They were not thrilled that they had to get up so early, but they were appeased with the food. CHANCE, however, was not happy AT ALL. He was the ONE that did NOT want to get out of bed!
When we got home, they were getting out of the truck and I said, "Great Job on the practice run this morning!" You all did great...let's do it again just like this tomorrow morning!"
They were not amused.
I heard about it for the rest of the day.
Fast Forward to today....
6:30 am and everyone is still in BED! Even Joe! LOL...WHAT HAPPENED!!!???
Tamon Really DID miss his bus and Joe had to take him. Aubrie was difficult and did not want to wear the only pair of jeans that I could find in her trash heap she calls a room, and Skye was not wanting to wear the clothes that SHE picked out last night! UGH!!!!
We got to school at 7:35...which is technically early, but Chance and Aubrie are on the Safety Patrol Team, which means that they are supposed to be there at 7:30.
Oh well....It was a "Back to School Monday" for real this time!
And now it is time for a January Reveal from SD4U! I used the "Honey I'm Home" collection to create these layouts...

And for Good Measure...
I am showcasing a few of my "BOY" layouts that I love for 2009. They get their own feature for 2 reasons... I do not scrap my boys enough...I think I will make it a resolution to do that more often this year!! AND because they are totally "un-loved" in the scrappy world, and Chance thinks that he deserves his VERY OWN POST. LOL...so I gave the boys their own featured spot-light!
Here are my boys....

That concludes my Favorites for the year of 2009. Like I said...they are not my BEST works...they are my favorites that are dear to my heart for one reason or another.
Thank you for stopping by my blog...and I wish you all a very happy~scrappy New Year! May 2010 bring us all prosperity...at least enough to support our addiction to paper!! LOL

October, November and December...
Ok...now for the final THREE of my top ten favorites through the year. By now, I am using all kinds of new techniques, embellies, and more. I have learned to layer my items for added interest and I am not scared of color or patterned paper any more!! I am so excited! I think I chose this next layout for October for several reasons...one, because it is my hunky hubby...and it is very very rare that I scrap about him! Actually...this is the ONLY layout this year about him alone! LOL I also love the bright vivid colors that I chose for this layout. =)

This next one is November's layout that was created with the kit from ScrapAttack, and Lauri's sketch. I swear, I think she created that sketch for ME! I LOVED the sketch...and I do love the results of using that sketch! I do not scrap with many circles...but this layout just holds my heart strings.

And here is December's layout. While I am at the point of loving most all of my layouts, I think this one took the cake for me this month. The multi layers of snowflakes and the rub-ons and the pearls and the glitz and glam...it is my heart on paper! Skye said to me.."Mama, there really IS a Santa Clause! He made it snow for your Birthday! It was my Christmas wish!" After the SNOW IN TEXAS on my Birthday...I totally forgot all about the fact that snowflakes do not "work" on a layout about a Texas girl! LOL...Let it SNOW, Baby!

July August and September's favorites...
I am continuing with my countdown of my month by month top favorites. These are not my best work for each month...keep that in mind...these are the ones that are dear to my heart for one reason or another...my personal favorites. I will post another post late tonight before my final favorite for tomorrow...but here goes the next three in the monthly line-up..
Here is July. I think I chose this one for July for 2 reasons...One...the colors just seem to catch my eye...even now...and Two...It was the first time that I think I successfully matched papers to my kid's clothing! LOL...signs of a true scrapper right? I have hidden journaling behind the big circle mat...accessible through the ribbon plking out...it gives the whole story behind the girl and the "Princess Dress"

Here is August...I think I chose this one for the sheer simplicity in it. There is almost nothing to this layout, yet it still calls to me. Maybe the white on white, or maybe the black and white photo...don't know...but I love it anyway.

And September...Skye started school. I think I chose this one not only because I love the simple design...but because it noted her first day of school,, her favorite school outfit, the special bow that I made for her...and because it is so perfect for September. I think I also developed a love for polka dots around this time of the year. I noticed that many of my layouts contained polkas! LOL
This one was pubbed in January Scrap street!!! Go check it out!!!
Thank you for stopping in to see me again! Have a Happy New Year's Eve...and Please Don't Drink and Drive tonight!!!!!! I want you all to come back tomorrow for my final post!

#5~6~&7
Sorry that I am late with this post...kids at home for the holidays make being on time for ANYTHING difficult! I did finally narrow down my # ones for April, May and June...so here they are... (5-6-&7)
April brought on the CK scrapbook Expo to Houston...and I created this layout to enter into one of the contests. I did not win...but came very close! I tried my hand at border punches on this one...which I have since become ADDICTED to. I also used rub ons here...and I found out that I do like them.

May brought on new techniques...like paper burning...!!??? I had never even imagined that I would burn my paper for my scrapbooks...but I did ...and while I love how it looks...it is not a technique that I have maintained as one of my favorites. This layout also is special to me because it is my daughter's song and NAME...a super special little girl!
And now June. I think this layout ranks super high on my all time favorites. Not only did it win in the Scraptathalon challenge that I participated in...but it also won the hearts of many many people. This is my family...all of our hands in a circle...never ending. This is the way that God intended it...and the way that I hope that it will stay. I did circle journaling...which was part of the challenge...and I had never done...I used tons of flowers, stickles, ribbon, and a metal butterfly jewel that had come from a broken necklace. Obviously by now...I have grown a LOT in my scrapping, and in my confidence in my self and my abilities to create a worthy layout.

Thank you all for looking! I will be back again tomorrow with 3 more...THESE will be super hard. It is getting to the end of the year and by now, I am loving more of my layouts than I used to..and I am preparing myself to try out for a Design team for the very first time in my life......stay tuned for tomorrow's reveal!

Top Ten in 2009...
I got an idea from my super talented friend Lady Grace that I just HAVE to follow through with. She suggested posting your personal TOP TEN favorites of your own work in 2009...kind of a year in review. I LOVE that idea! I have over 200 layouts this year...so it will NOT be an easy thing to capture in TEN favorites...but I will try.
I will be posting a few a day...ending with the last one on New Years Day...2010. I will be posting the top ten...One from each month...so bare with me...because I have grown TREMENDOUSLY as a scrapper form January until now. Keep in mind these are not my top ten best...they are my top ten favorites MONTH BY MONTH...for 2009.
We are going to start with January, February and March.
Here is JANUARY's layout. After a 2 year hiatus of not scrapping at all...I decided it was time to scrapbook. I dove into Scrapbook.com and gained tons of inspiration... learned that there were things like bling and flowers out now! WOW!
I set my goal...20 layouts a month for the entire year...and I started. This was done with a map from Pagemaps.com. an inspired by the Jamey Johnson song...You Should Have Seen it in Color.

Here is February...I am not sure that this one was done in February..because in the early part of the year I was not keeping track of my layouts. This one was inspired by a challenge on SB.com...It was a questionaire for each of my kids to answer about their thoughts of me. I LOVED reading the answers...and it is very dear to my heart. Obviously...after the discovery of blossoms and bling...I got hooked!

Here is March...obviously. This is my 2 beautiful daughters smooching at me in the photo. I LOVE this one...because I HATE the color green...but it looks great here for some reason. This is my 3rd month into 2009 and I think you can see that I have already grown a bit in my scrapping. I have used my cricut...infused some embellies...inked... and I even used a paper with a bit of a pattern instead of JUST PLAIN card stock! WOW!

Ok...so these are my #10, 9 and 8 favorites. Tomorrow I will introduce #7,6, and 5...those will be tough...so I have to get busy narrowing down my layouts through June!
Please pop in again tomorrow for the next 3! Thanks for stopping by!

Back to normal...
....or something like that. Joe had to drag himself out of bed to go to work this morning, I had to get up and feed kids, and laundry and dishes are already in their respective washers. The holidays are great, but they tend to create humongous messes that MOM gets to clean up. Oh well...life will go on!
I got tons of pictures over the holidays...and I am ready to get to scrappin'!! With CHA just around the corner...I am super excited to see what will be introdused to our scrappy little world next!!
So...do you want to see a sneak of the {SAS}sy January kit? It looks like it will be a fun one!!.... here ya go!

The kit will be available for purchase in mid January, so don't wait too late to get yours!
Oh...and don't forget about the {SAS}sy Black Tie Crop coming up the weekend of January 8th through the 10th!~

ONLY TWO DAYS!
there are only 2 days left for any last minute Christmas shopping...stocking stuffers...or even your holiday meal. For me...it is 2 days until I get to sit for one whole day stress and worry free and spend time with my family. On Christmas Day...it is a rule in our house that the internet is off limits. We do not leave our house AT ALL...we stay home and enjoy one another. It is all I ask for on Christmas...and I love every minute of it.
This year...Joe is doing our family dinner. I normally do the whole traditional turkey~stuffing~cranberry sauce dinner...but Joe decided he wanted to change it up a bit. He is doing some sort of stuffed pablano pepper with super thin sliced rib eye steak and 3 different kinds of cheeses....my mouth is already watering!
I have a few photos that I am in LOVE with that I wanted to share from our Family gathering over this last weekend...I can not WIATto scrap these!!!!
Here is my family...all of us smiling...or should I say LAUGHING! I just LOVE that look on Dayne's face! I don't remember what was so funny, but it sure made for a FABULOUS photo! I don't even mind that Chance is looking at me instead of the camera!

And here is Skye and "Fluffy". Lacie gave this stuffed dog to her for Christmas and she wanted a picture with just her and Fluffy...so I obliged. I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! I think I will play with it a bit and try to get that old Sears and Roebuck Greeting card feel.

This will be my last post until after Christmas. I really wanted to do more, but time invariably escaped me. Five kids do not make it easy...especially around the holidays! LOL
I do wish you all a very Happy Holiday and Merry Christmas. Thank you for stopping by!

December {SAS}sy reveal
I had soooo much fun working with the Sassafrass Amplified line and the Crate Paper Cottage Collection this month from Lauri! OMGoodness...the layouts just kept flowing and the bright vivid colors are definitely an eye catcher! The strong angular lines and the "amplified" color patterns on the Sassafrass mad it supeR easy to scrap some BOLD photos that I would normally have not even scrapped. I TRULY love EVERYTHING I DID THIS MONTH WITH MY SUPPLIES....CHECK IT OUT....

SD4U December Mega Kit Reveal!
OMGoodness! The December Mega Kit at SD4U is PACKED with goodies for your scrapping pleasure! I have had SO MUCH fun playing with it, and the inspiration is overflowing! I still have a lot of materials that I will work on the super cute chipboard album that came in the kit. I started it, but got sidetracked with my 12x2 layouts....LOL. I just kept getting more ideas for this kit!
My Snow Day layout was inspired by an exclusive sketch povided to SD4U by Kristine over at Creative Scrappers....go check her site out!
And "Cuppy Cake" was inspired by the same sketch from pagemaps that I had the pleasure of working with for the December Pagemaps Samples.

I was so excited when I got the e-mail from Becky at Pagemaps inviting me to be a contributor for the December sketches! I knew exact;y what I wanted to do the moment she sent over the sketch! I used the Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas line to create this layout, and I am thrilled with the way it turned out! Thank you, Becky, for the opportunity to create for you!
