Not New, but....

here is a layout that I haven't shared yet. It was a lift challenge that I host at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking, and this month we lifted Gina Johnson, another DT member. I used The Nikki Sivils,"U R My Favorite" Collection...which I LOVE LOVE LOVE! I have probably purchased the entire collection at least Twice! LOL
This line went MAGNIFICENTLY with these photos of my little ones playing with their towels. Skye's towel is a labybug, and Hunter is wrapped up in a FROG...Perfect!!!
These 2 had so much fun just playing with a towel!!! >>Yes...that is my 13 year old son in the smaller picture. He looks SOOOO OLD to me!!!

Right now, I am knee deep in GT camp with kiddos, school clothes shopping, working on DT assignments, and trying to maintain a tiny bit of normality in my house...LOL...which is almost impossible with as many kids as I have here on a regular basis! Anyone with kids knows how summer can get! I have 5 kids, and if you add just one friend per get the picture!! LOL. I look forward to the first day of school!!!

I hope you are all having a fun and safe summer!!! I will be back soon with more! Hopefully, I will get some pics of Tamon with his girlfriend...yes...I said girlfriend. I am officially getting old now. My baby is growing up.

My Simply Obsessed Reveal

Oh My Goodness. The August Queen Bee kit is ABSOLUTELY magnificent! It is the QUEEN of Kits...I kid you not!!! I have not wanted to stop working with this kit from the moment that I opened it up!!! I will share a couple of my creations with you today...but only a couple...LOL...the rest will have to wait. =)

Here is "My Eyes"...and yes...those are my eyes! I made each frame a slightly different color, and inked all the edges with turquoise StaZon. I wrapped a straw with the "Bees Wax" paper and cut out the little images to make the ends of the rods. All of the flowers are fussy cuts. I did this using a sketch from the Pagemaps blog right here... Pagemaps Blog. I turned the sketch clockwise one click and this was my result. I LOVED using that sketch!! And did you see the prize to be won? Scrap Attack Scrapbooking has an AMAZING giveaway to one lucky winner...go check it out!!

Here is "Hope". I caught Skye, my 4 year old picking the flowers off of my crape myrtle trees one day...and I ADORE the way the photos turned out. Here is one where she was actually picking the flower, saying..."It is a Miracle, Mommy! The leaves turned pink!" LOL..She was all amazed at how the leaves had turned pink instead of being green. I explained to her that it was the flowers...but I think I liked her explanation better. ;) Everything s from the kit...the pink flowers are punches that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Candy Appl Red mist.

And here is just a little "Hello" card. I have a matching project in the works for it...but it is not quite finished. =)

Thank you for taking time to check out my reveal! If you would like to order this Simply Obsesed QUEEN BEE SHOULD!!!! You will be the "Queen" of the crop!!!

Blog Hoppin' {SAS}sy Style!

If my blog is the first place you have visited…welcome! To make sure you don’t miss out on any of the blogs in the {SAS}sy Blog Hop I suggest you start at the beginning by visiting at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking at THIS LINK and then work your way around the rest of the blogs.

I thought I would share one of my ideas for using the Pink Paisley Artisan Tape. While it is cute and cool...some of us have no clue what to do with it...other than stick it to our pages like...well....Tape!
Below, I have a little photo tutorial on "Getting Loopy" with the paper tape. I have created a flower...but you can also make borders, pull tabs, or just about anything using these loops.

Here are the supplies that I used. The Tape of course, to make the loops (shown below), Glitter, paint brush, and a craft knife.

Here, I have rolled out the tape and I am applying the glitter to the area that will create the loop. The glitter keeps the tape from sticking to itself. Some people use baby powder or corn starch also. I prefer the glitter because I have SOOOO Much of it, and it is within arms reach and I do not have to go GET it from another location in my home! >>Not to mention, I have DEVOTED myself to using up my old stash!! LOL

Once I have applied the glitter to the Loopy area, I folded the tape over to stick to itself in the unglittered form the loop. I did this seven more times to create the loops for my flower.

Once all of my loops were created, I then used dry adhesive to apply them to a 2 inch cardboard circle. I happened to utilize the tag that came on the tape, but you can cut one out of anything. Form your circle of loops for the base of your flower.

I did the same thing with pieces of ribbon to add the next layer of my flower. I used Glossy Accents wet adhesive for this part, though, because the ribbon will not stick well to dry adhesive.

For the final touch, I fussy cut a flower from the Crate Paper, Paper Doll collection for the center. You can use anything...I just loved the effect this particular flower had.

Here is a side view of the flower.

I hope I have given you a new idea and a fresh perspective regarding the Pink Paisley Artisan tape! Head on over to Scrap Attack Scrapbooking and pick up a few rolls and "Get Loopy"!!

And since I could not share my entire layout with you that I used my flower on since it is for DT, I decided to share this one. It featured the Bo Bunny Peacock Lane collection. All of the products used in this layout can be purchased at the Scrap Attack Online Store.

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking will be donating prizes from all comments left on all participating blogs so make sure and comment so you are eligible to win! As a {BONUS} there is a hidden word on each blog that can be pieced together to make a familiar {SAS}sy phrase. If you can unscramble the highlighted words to make this phrase you could win a $50 gift certificate to the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking store.. For more details on the prizes, please see the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking blog.

Your word from My blog is DEVOTED

Today, 10 years ago 6:00 pm...I gave birth to my Beautiful daughter. Little did I know, when she was born, I was in for a roller coaster ride! She is super sweet, super sassy, super funny, and super feisty all rolled up into one tiny little red headed girl that I named Aubrie. She woke up this morning at 6 am and tiptoed into my bedroom, thought that I was still sleeping and turned to tip toe back out. I startled her when I half hollerd..."HEY! Happy Birthday Brat." she almost jumped out of her skin! LOL.
Well, for her birthday we went on a "girl's day out" all at her request. A whole day of shooping she said...which in all actuality was us shopping for her school clothes, but she will take it anyway she can get it! LOL. We had lunch, Italian...she had baked ziti, the girls rode the carousel, and we headed home after a long day of shopping. ***Remember my day started at 6 am! LOL**
The girls had did I . Spending time with my girls is something that I do not get very often.
Here is a photo of her on the carousel....notice she is not looking very enthused?? Well, the carousel was not her favorite thing. She said... "I am TEN, Mother."

BUT...then you see Skye. All smiles and practically jumping for joy. She had a blast on the carousel.

So, suffice to say, Aubrie loved the shopping and hated the carousel, while Skye HATED the shopping and LOVED the carousel. Girls!!!!! LOL

Happy Birthday...I love you, Aubrie!

Sketchy Saturday!

Today, I have used my Lily Bee kit from Simply Obsessed to work this FANTASTIC sketch by Kristine Davidson at Creative Scrappers. As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew that it was perfect for these photos! This is Dayne and my Step Dad on Easter Day. Yes...That is my Step all his Goofy Glory. We were ALL giving him a hard time that day for sporting his super duper "Rodeo Clown" get-up. LOL...It is how he ACTUALLY was just exceptionally funny that day, because his own grand daughter was scared of him...she is petrified of clowns, therefore...petrified of him! LOL
While were were picking on the "Rodeo Clown", he casually pointed out the cowboy...Dayne. It quickly turned into a far fetched story of the Bandit Duo, Rooster the Rodeo Clown and The Kid Cowboy who were comitting crimes within the Rodeo Circuit. Dayne did not find it very amusing. Oh Well, He will laugh about it some day....I have made sure of it! With this layout........

Based on this sketch by Kristine...

I would love to see what you create based on Kristine's sketch! I have it posted at Scrapbook Deals head on over there and play along!

Reveal Day for SD4U!!!!!

Holy Magnificence, Batman!!!....I LOVED this kit!! At first glance, one would assume that it is a very theme~y kit...which it is. HOWEVER...I got some great layouts from this kit that were not AT ALL theme related! I am VERY proud of my American heritage...and even Texan heritage..which also works FABULOUSLY with this kit...but let's face it...we are not all American...or Texan! The colors and the embellies that Martha paired with this kit work perfectly for so many other topics! Check it out....

Here is "I love You". The glittery star paper made me think first of a sleeping baby and Twinkle Little Star...BUT...we watched Toy Story, ALL OF THEM.... and an idea went off in my head!!! Buzz!!! To Infinity and Beyond!!!! So....this was the result. When my kids tell me that they love me..they say, "I love you, infinity and beyond." This will always remind me of that because we all know....that phrase will not live these munchkins will grow up and stop being so dang adorable!

Here is a loving note to my hubby..."You Make Them Sparkle". Again...all of the glittery stars and embellies made me think all starry eyed...which he DOES make me still...after all these years!

Here is one that is more about "Freedom", and the Freedom that a 3 year old has...especially when running around barefooted and wearing only overalls! This was one of the professionals from my son's 3rd birthday that has resided on my wall for 10 years...he is 13 now, and I finally took it down to update some photos. I just thought these colors worked perfectly with this photo!...and the Tommy Hilfiger flag on the overalls worked in perfectly with this kit!!

And here is "Miss Liberty". It is the one and only layout that I did that is truly 4th of July. This is my daughter when she was was July 4th of 2006. I have never scrapped this photo, mostly because I am lazy...LOL ...but also because I never had just the perfect embellies and inspiration...until now, with this kit!

Thanks for taking time to look! Due to a rather large hurricane in the Gulf...the opportunity for photos has been non-existent. I actually BEAT the rain with these photos this morning, but as SOON as I was done, the rain came and everything was black again! LOL Thank goodness for sleeping kids, a good camera, and Photoshop! LOL
